The 18th Installation of the Sasonian Interact Club was held on 26/5/25. Rev Father Dr Victor George Fernandes, principal of St Augustine’s School, was the Chief Guest. The President of Rotary Club of Kalimpong, Rtn Sheila Rai Fudong, was the Guest of Honour. The incoming President Intr Ronald Rai, Secretary Intr Adhiyajna Chhetri, Board of Directors and new inductees were sworn into office ceremoniously. Present amongst the dignitaries were the vice principal of SAS, Rev Father George Lepcha, CYLC PP Rtn CA Sumit Jindal, the Faculty Counsellors of the Sasonian Interact Club Sir Neeraj Pradhan and Sir Anurag Balmiki, Rotarians, Faculty Counsellors and Interactors of Army Public School, Dr Graham’s Homes, Rockvale Academy and Saptashri Gyanpeeth. One of the ongoing projects of the Sasonian Interact Club is the sponsorship of the education of Sujit Tiruwa in Kumudini Homes School since 2022.
Interact clubs primarily focus on developing leadership skills and personal integrity in young people. They also aim to foster a sense of community service, helpfulness, and respect for others, along with promoting individual responsibility and hard work. These clubs encourage international understanding and goodwill through various activities and projects. There are currently over 20,300 Interact clubs worldwide. Interact is a service club for youth ages 14-18, sponsored by individual Rotary clubs. The clubs are self-governing and self-supporting, and can be either school or community-based.
