9th Installation of the Interact of Vrindavan School held on 31st May.

The Interact Club of Vrindavan School had its 9th installation on the 31st of May 2024 at their school hall .

The Chief Guest was Mr Lee Kumar Pradhan. He is a former Rotarian who, as a then Dist. Governor’s Special Representative, helped in chartering the Rotary Club of Kalimpong in 1993 under the Charter Presidentship of Rtn Brig N K Gurung. The Guest of Honour was the President of RC Kalimpong, Rtn Mahendra Agrawal.

Also on the dais were Asst Governor Rtn Vikash Golyan jr, the New Gen Director Rtn CA Sumit Jindal, President Intr Anushka Subba and Secretary Intr Sanjiv Shah.

Interact Clubs are a service organisation for high school students between the ages of 12 and 18 who desire to volunteer their time and aid school and community. It provides an opportunity to young people to work together in a world fellowship dedicated to service and international understanding. They are sponsored by Rotary Clubs.

Present in the audience were Interactors from SAS and RVA along with their Faculty Counsellors, students of APS accompanied by their teacher and Rotarians PE Rtn Sheila Rai Fudong, PEN Rtn Col AK Gogoi, Rtn Pravin Pradhan Headmaster DGH, Rtn Col Kunga T Sherpa, Rtn Abhishek Pradhan, Rtn Ritika Singh, Rtn Karma Tendup and Rotary Ann Sonia Golyan.

The incoming President and Secretary were installed after being administered the oath of office by Presd Rtn Mahendra.

This was followed by the swearing in of the new Board of Directors and new members of the club. Speeches were delivered by the dignitaries on the dais.

The forms for the Interact District Conference were given out by the AG Rtn Vikash. He encouraged all Interactors to register.

The New Gen Director Rtn CA Sumit Jindal then explained how being an Interactor would help them get Social Credit while applying for higher studies abroad.
Here the Faculty Counsellors of Vrindavan School, Ma’am Keren and Sir Debasis must also be congratulated for helping to organise a ceremonious and meaningful programme. The programme was adjourned after the vote of thanks delivered by Intr Prakriti Subba.

The first community service by the interact Club of Vrindavan School for the new Rotary year ‘24-‘25 was then inaugurated by the PE Rtn Sheila Rai Fudong and all the other dignitaries. It was an electrical incinerator for used sanitary napkins. This was a project which has been done for the very first time by an Interact Club of a school. Coming just after a few days after World Menstrual Hygiene Day, the project was even more meaningful.
